The Roland Fantom G7 lives up to the Roland name. It is durable and reliable and an overall good investment. This keyboard is full of state of the art features. The Roland G7 has 76 keys and a variety of slides and buttons which allows for easy control of the main functions.

This model has a large screen graphic user interface with an LCD screen which can be operated via USB mouse. You can also use it without a mouse with the manually controlled curser. It has a few little gitches in the mouse operation, but when the curser is moved manually, the mouse will continue to work correctly.

 

The workstation also comes with two ARX slots to accomodate expansion boards. Presently there are only two expansion boards available. One is for percussion features and the other for electric pianos. While these are impressive, no new ARX boards are planned from Roland in the near future. There is also an on-board sequencer with 128 midi tracks; this also includes 24 audio tracks.

You can store your creativity on a thumb drive when you are done. Carefully research the kind of thumb drive that will be used as some are not compatible with this particular model of workstation.

Overall, this workstation is complete and useful for both creating and playing. It is designed to help you make your most creative music and do so quickly. Features are easy to learn and use. The Fantom G7 workstation is well worth the money spent!
