Korg R3 Synthesizers

 

 

The first thing any musician is going to notice about the Korg R3 synthesizer is the fact that the weight of the instrument is far less than that of most other synthesizers, including other models offered by the Korg firm. This fact makes the device very useful for touring, and it would be ideal for the garage band that doesn’t have a great deal of space for carrying and transporting their gear.

The MIDI synthesizer has a great classic electronic sound, and the Korg R3 Synthesizer really shines with the Vocoder equipment installed on board. The Vocoder of the Korg R3 synthesizer is a 16-band module. The rear inputs allow for audio besides what the onboard microphone can sample, and sixteen slots are allowed for such work in the formant motion mode. Each of these slots equals seven and a half seconds.

 

The Digital Waveform Generator System provisions the user with sound wave generation algorithms. This option provides around sixty different wave shapes, and the square wave options are especially useful for a raw sound. The noise generator is another of the excellent options provided onboard the Korg R3 synthesizer, which can be used for many raw sounding effects.

This is not, however, to say that R3 lacks classical sensibility. The eight voice polyphony will give a treat to the most seasoned of classical musicians and the dual oscillators offer a certain degree of realism in the synthesizer’s operation. Six arpeggiator patterns also serve to increase the level of realism. Of course, that doesn’t mean that the Korg R3 synthesizer will disappoint even the most hardcore of rockers or ravers.
